Multi-pitch climbing Course

Experience the Unforgettable Thrill of Multi-Pitch Climbing in the Swiss Alps

Join Our Course and Learn Essential Skills and Techniques!

Life Adventure Guiding is happy to offer you this exciting multi-pitch climbing course for aspiring rock climbers! Have you ever been awed by rock climbers high on a vertical face? This could be you! Multi-pitch climbing involves routes ranging between 2 and 25+ pitches (50-400m!) with varying difficulty levels. There is a route for everyone.

Our multi-pitch climbing course is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the skills and techniques required for successful multi-pitch climbs. You can expect a full day(s) of activity between learning and applying the material on a multi-pitch route. We provide hands-on training and support throughout the course to ensure you understand the extensive material.

Here are the topics covered in the Multi-pitch course:

  • Lead climbing: learn to lead climb on multi-pitch routes
  • Clipping bolts and rope management: learn the best practices for clipping bolts and managing ropes on lead
  • Lead belaying and belaying from above at the anchor
  • Protection techniques: review protection techniques using bolts, cams, and friends
  • Anchor building: learn how to build secure and reliable anchors on multi-pitch routes
  • Route consideration: learn to choose the best route for your team
  • Two-person multi-pitch system: gain a solid foundation in the two or three-person multi-pitch system
  • Descent options: learn about rappelling and walking off as possible descent options
  • Traditional protection: learn how to use traditional protection techniques like cams and friends

Our small group sizes, with a maximum of four students, ensure personalized attention to optimize learning and your experience. Choose from a course length between 1-3 days. The multi-pitch techniques and systems can be learned in one day with high-fives at the top of your first multi-pitch route.

However, the extra time in the 2 or 3-day course allows for the review of day-1 material, answering your questions, diving deeper into climbing topics, and more supervised multi-pitch climbing to ensure the correct application of skills. Many students report that the 2-day course is valuable and couldn’t imagine retaining the new information in one day.

Our experienced guides will handpick the best climbing area and route for the team based on factors like skill level, time availability, weather, and motivation level, ensuring you have a memorable and valuable course.

This multi-pitch course is for anyone ready to take their climbing skills to the next level. Our high-quality instruction gives you the confidence and skills to tackle future multi-pitch routes.

Check out what these climbers said about the Multi-Pitch course:

“We had an awesome day with Tim doing a multi pitch course near Interlaken. We booked on very short notice, and still he was able to organize an awesome day for us. He was super knowledgeable and made the course really enjoyable for us. And took some incredible photos for us too. Recommend!”  – Alex (UK)

Tim took me up a multipitch climb up the side of the Stockhorn in Switzerland – and it was absolutely awesome!! I have a couple years experience in climbing with mostly single pitches and a couple multipitch routes, and to be able to go up with someone like Tim was very beneficial to me. I told him my previous climbing experience, and about the level that I was climbing at, and he picked a route that challenged me, but did not overwhelm me.

I think the best part of my experience (if I had to choose just one thing) would be that Tim also taught me a lot of rope management skills, and tips and tricks that help with efficiency while on the route. I had an absolute blast, and am looking forward to the next adventure with Tim!  – Josh (USA)
