Multi-pitch climbing Course

Multi-pitch climbing in the Swiss Alps

is an unforgettable experience

Thousands of multi-pitch routes are waiting for you! This course will teach you how to climb them!

Multi-pitch climbing is ascending a route that includes one or more stops at belay stands.  A climber leads a pitch and then belays their partner up to the belay stand. The climbers can swap roles as lead climber or belayer on every pitch. The process repeats until the route is climbed or the party retreats.

Have you ever seen rock climbers high on a rock face? That’s multi-pitch climbing! Routes can range between 2 and 25+ pitches (50-400m!) with various degrees of difficulty. The vertical world of multi-pitch climbing is exciting and challenging. There are many skills and techniques required for such an undertaking. This course will equip you to accomplish your goals in a multi-pitch setting.

Here are some of the topics covered in this course:

  • Route consideration of what’s best for the team
  • Review of lead belaying and belaying from above
  • Review protection and anchors
  • How Multi-pitch system works.
  • Descent options- Rappel or walk-off

The multi-pitch course is conducted over two days with small group sizes (max. four students) to optimize learning and experience. It includes overnight accommodations with easy access to the climbing areas. If you are ready to climb to the next level, this multi-pitch course is for you.
